How it works

Three steps to test day

  1. Find your gaps

Take the free 60-question practice test. You’ll see your score and how you did in each of the 12 General subject areas.

  2. Study what you missed

Work through practice questions by area. Every answer explains why it’s right, why the others are wrong, and where it comes from in the FAA handbook or regulations.

  3. Prove you’re ready

Take timed mock exams until your scores are steady, then book your FAA test with confidence in what you know.

What you get

Built for how mechanics actually study

Original, sourced questions

Written from FAA-H-8083-30B, AC 43.13-1B and 14 CFR. Each one quotes the passage that backs the answer, with the page number, so you can check it yourself.

Mapped to the FAA’s topic list

Every question is tagged with its Airman Certification Standards code (like AM.I.A.K1), the same codes that appear on your FAA score report.

Checked, then checked again

Every question is checked by two separate AI models against its source, and our question bank is being reviewed by a licensed A&P mechanic.

Questions

Is this the official FAA test or an FAA product?

No. Torqued to Pass is an independent study product. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by the FAA, and our questions are not FAA test questions. The FAA test itself is taken at an FAA-approved testing center.

Where do your questions come from?

We write every question ourselves from public FAA documents: the Aviation Maintenance Technician Handbook – General (FAA-H-8083-30B), Advisory Circular 43.13-1B, and the Federal Aviation Regulations (14 CFR). Each question names its source and page and quotes the passage that supports the answer. How we make and check questions.

Do I need to sign up for the free practice test?

No. Open the free test and start. Your answers are saved only in your own browser so you can come back later. Nothing is sent to us.

How close is the free test to the real General test?

It has the same number of questions as the FAA General test (60) and covers the same 12 subject areas from the FAA’s Airman Certification Standards. It is untimed and uses our own original questions, so treat it as a check of where you stand, not a prediction of your FAA score.

What does the pass-or-refund guarantee cover?

If you fail an FAA test you prepared for with us, you can ask for your money back, as long as these conditions are met:

Pass-or-refund guarantee: the conditions

  • Before your test date, you must finish at least 90% of that test’s practice questions and score 80% or higher on at least 3 of its timed mock exams.
  • You must upload your FAA test score report within 30 days of the failed test.
